Sample Films

The films presented here are produced using photographs and voice materials and are not live recordings. The narrator appears as a digital avatar, with the voice generated from the subject’s own recording sample. All other visuals are created through animated photographs or scene reconstruction.

For privacy reasons, client films are not publicly displayed. The sample films on this page are produced using the founder’s family materials. Except for the founder himself, other individuals appearing in the photographs have been masked as necessary.

The films fall into two formats:

  • Personal Memory Films: Centered on personal experiences and life moments, organizing photographs and materials into a cohesive narrative.
  • Heritage Films: Created to preserve the voices and stories of elders or families, transforming existing materials into lasting visual records.

Production Process

Each film is created exclusively based on the photographs and background information provided by the client.

We examine the context and relationships embedded in the images, transforming static frames into a coherent narrative.

This is not a simple compilation, but a work shaped through deliberate structure and overall design.

01. Submit Materials

Submit photographs and a voice sample, and provide project requirements and photo descriptions.

03. Film Production

Photographs are developed into specific scenes and actions, animated accordingly, and assembled into a first cut.

02. Narration Review

A draft narration is written based on the materials and reviewed by the client to confirm direction.

04. Final Delivery

One round of revisions is completed based on client feedback, followed by delivery of the final film.

Standard Package

Each film is custom-produced based on the photographs and voice sample provided by the client. Pricing depends on the number of materials and the complexity of production. The following outlines the standard package.

Standard Film Package: USD $160

This package is suitable for personal memory and heritage films, with a final duration of approximately 90–120 seconds. It is based on 12–15 photographs to create a complete narrative and includes photo structure planning, visual design, and editing integration.

Custom Projects

In addition to the standard package, projects involving special material conditions, advanced scene construction, extended duration, or other production requirements can be discussed and quoted separately.

About MutuStar

MutuStar founder Mu Lin has long been engaged in visual media production and communication teaching. He previously taught television production and communication courses full-time at several U.S. universities.

While organizing years of accumulated family photographs, he realized that many precious images had been carefully preserved, yet were rarely revisited.

MutuStar was founded from this realization — beginning with photographs and transforming static images into cohesive narrative films.

We believe the value of images lies not merely in being preserved, but in being seen.
